The West is crumbling—not because banks have failed or because we lack material wealth but because the soul of our culture has deteriorated. We’ve forgotten where we came from.
The question isn’t whether we’re living through a civilizational moment—we are. The question is what we’ll do with the time given to us.
Introduction
Excerpt
We don’t get to decide the times in which we live, but we ought to understand these times so we can know what to do.
We live in a time when many nations are spiraling into lawlessness, chaos, and darkness. How are we as followers of Jesus Christ to respond? Are we to be passive in the face of evil? Are we to merely pray and wait for God to do something?
Instead, we are to proactively follow Spurgeon’s dictum on the balance between human responsibility and God’s sovereignty: “The best and wisest thing in the world is to work as if it all depended upon you, and then trust in God, knowing that it all depends on him.”
While everyone concerned about society and civilization will benefit from these insights, this book is primarily for Christians who are serious about cultural breakdown and the crisis brewing in civil society. It’s for leaders seeking answers and strategies that can bring kingdom breakthroughs.
Unlike books that merely critique secular culture or nostalgically yearn for better times, this work provides a systematic framework showing how the Judeo-Christian worldview serves as the ultimate “owner’s manual” for human flourishing. It offers concrete historical evidence of how biblical principles created the foundational structures of Western liberty, science, and human dignity.
The universe is not silent. The question is: Are we ready to listen and act?
The cultural earthquake is real, but so is our opportunity to help rebuild on the only foundation that can withstand the shaking: the eternal truth of God’s Word.
A three-part journey
I
The Problem: Understanding the Times and Seasons
We are living through a civilizational moment in which evil and tyrannical forces are destroying nations and Western civilization with lies and violence. But there is hope! Jesus Christ died on the cross as the Lamb of God and rose from the tomb as the Lion of Judah.

Dedication
To my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, With all my love:
You are beautifully and wonderfully made!
God has endowed you with purpose and the ability to make decisions in this life that will shape history and the lives of future generations.
In Memory of Charlie Kirk
1993–2025
Faithful servant of Christ Jesus, Whose bold voice for truth, Courageous stand for freedom, And unwavering defense of family Led to his martyrdom by an assassin’s bullet September 10, 2025 Salt Lake City, Utah
Charlie, you gave voice to a generation yearning for truth in an age of deception. You challenged young people to think critically, to stand courageously, and to live purposefully. Your message of hope cut through despair, offering a vision of what could be when a nation is built on biblical foundations.
This book is written in the spirit you embodied: that we must understand our times to know what we ought to do. Your life demonstrated that one voice, speaking truth with conviction and love, can awaken a generation.
My prayer is that Occupy Till I Come will continue the work you began—equipping and encouraging the generation and nation for which you gave your life. Your sacrifice is not in vain, but rather the seed that produces a harvest of revival, reformation, and return to the author of all truth.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
“Once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide, In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side.” —James Russell Lowell
